Terms and Conditions Governing OCBC Mighty Savers Short Story Writing Contest
  1. This contest is open to all OCBC Mighty SaversTM customers who open savings accounts under the OCBC Mighty SaversTM Programme no later than 31 October 2008.

  1. OCBC Mighty SaversTM customers aged 7-12 years old (as of 2008) are eligible to take part in this contest.

  1. There will be two categories for the contest:

-          7-9 years old

-          10-12 years old

  1. Each participant is required to write an original story (in English) based on the given themes: (i) Mighty SaversTM family characters (Daddy Sam, Mummy Sandra, Simon, Sally and Baby Sarah), (ii) the importance of Saving and (iii) Christmas

  1. Minimum length of the entry is 150 words and maximum length is 350 words

  1. Entries which do not comply with the themes and rules will be disqualified

  1. Each participant can only submit one entry

  1. Each participant is required to submit his or her entry via www.ocbc.com/mightysavers

  1. OCBC Bank will appoint a panel of judges to select the winning entries and reserves the right to change the judges without any prior notice

  1. Participants will be judged on the following criteria:

-          linguistics skills

-          writing skills

-          story originality and creativity

-          ability to bring  the Mighty SaversTM family characters to life and weaving in the other themes of the Importance of Saving and Christmas

 

 

  1. 12 winning entries (6 entries per category) will be selected at the end of the contest

  1. Winners will be notified by phone and mail in November 2008

  1. Each winner stands to receive S$500 worth of hampers and vouchers. OCBC Bank reserves the right to change the prizes without prior notice

  1. OCBC shall not be responsible for the quality, merchantability or the fitness for any purpose or any other aspect of the prize. Notwithstanding anything herein, OCBC shall not at any time be responsible or held liable for any defect or malfunction in the Prize by any person

  1. If any prize winner is subsequently discovered to be not entitled or ineligible to participate in the contest or ineligible to receive the prize, OCBC may forfeit/reclaim the prize at its discretion and confer the same on such other person as may be selected in such manner as OCBC Bank deems fit. No person shall be entitled to any payment or compensation from OCBC should any prize be forfeited.
